365 Days!

Happy Birthday Kate! It does not seem possible that my baby is one year old. Kate had three birthday parties, but was only totally present for 1 1/2. She was falling asleep during dinner so we stopped dinner to sing happy birthday. I got the cake ready and Emily blew out her candle. Then we got out the presents, which Emily opened. We gave her a piece of cake, which she had zero interest in, so Emily ate the icing for her. Four minutes later Kate was in bed. I guess turning one can really wear a girl out.

Kate is so much fun, and makes us laugh everyday. Emily always wants to know where Kate is and vice versa. Kate loves to climb on everything, and is such a smiley girl (when the pacifier is not in her mouth.) We love you Kate! Happy B-day!

Sometimes I imagine that my five years of piano lessons were not in vain, and that I can not only play the piano but sing like Imogen. This is just for fun, enjoy!

Carrots not Carats

We dug up all of our garden. I use the term garden very loosely. It was our first attempt and we learned quite a bit. Although we were very successful in the carrots. I mean it was like those carrots had been watered in miracle grow. The reality is we ignored them all summer. Despite our lack of care we now could feed ten rabbit families all winter.

I have offered some of our neighbors carrots and they have politely declined. I think one lady is avoiding me for fear that I will offer her more produce. They are carrots people not zucchini. They increase night vision, and are full of anti-oxidants, not to mention really good! I just want to dump them on doorsteps. But I think everyone would know I left them. Maybe we'll get a rabbit.

Driver's Ed Revisited

I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow. Which means I have to face the dreaded "car carts." You've seen them, the shopping carts that are supposed to resemble a car. I guess the purpose is to keep your child occupied and happily "driving" the car while you shop. Let me alert the designer of the car cart, they don't work.

I cannot tell you how many innocent shoppers I have accidently rammed with the car cart which weighs as much as an elephant. The turning radius is somewhat lacking in a car cart. You are better off just making a circle around the entire store then flipping a u-turn in that beast.

Because the child is low to the ground they can GET OUT of the cart very easily, and then I end up chasing my three-year old down the aisle while trying to push the cart beast.

If you can turn a light on and off by the mere clap of your hands, (The Clapper) why can't someone design a shopping cart that one can push through a store?
