Although it has been 20 months since we lived in Southern California we still really miss our favorite weather forecaster Dallas Raines.
Dallas Raines. Doesn't that just sound like a weather forecaster name? This man was born to report the weather in LA.
Every night we would watch him glide across the room to his map and explain what was happening on MEGA Live Doppler 7000+ wearing a double-breasted pinstripe suit, and perfectly coiffed full head of silver hair. He always had the perfect tan, and those teeth. I bet they turn off a few lights in the news studio when he flashes those brilliant white lights.
Once B-Rad saw him in front of his house getting the newspaper. I walked by his house almost daily hoping that I too, could catch a glimpse of the super-star weatherman. No Luck.
Dallas is the perfect Hollywood news forecaster. If he ever got the weather wrong we really didn't care. How could you when a man who acts like a movie star is giving you the report?!
Besides what was there to get wrong? Oh, it rained a little today. Oh, the sun is going to shine. Not much going on in SoCal.
Unlike here. Where all of you, Kevin, Grant, Jill, and all the rest of you, got it wrong, very very wrong. A little snow on Wednesday huh? That's what you said, but you did not tell us that there would be 75 mile and hour winds, without power for 2 hours, and one of the craziest storms to ever hit Utah!
This morning as I was hefting snow out of the driveway, and chipping ice off the front steps I shed a tear for Mr Hollywood himself, Dallas Raines.

Farewell Geo Prism
A few weeks ago B-Rad was side-swiped on the freeway, which pushed him into a semi-truck, which caused him to have a head-on with a cement barrier. Of course the biggest blessing is that B-Rad did not have a scratch on him. And for that I am very grateful. With that being said, I must say a proper good-bye to the Geo.
Oh Geo Prism, you have been such a great car. You were my college car, taking me across the state and never causing me a moment of worry!
Yes in your later years your air-conditioning was less then stellar, but I understand. You are 18 years old, it is okay.
You chugged me across the Mojave Desert when we moved to California, holding your own with the big bad semi trucks. (Although I did complain about your AC then, I was under a lot of stress and for that I'm sorry.)
Even after that fateful evening when you were battered across the freeway, B-Rad drove you home! You gave your all to the very end. Thanks for the seven years of incredible service, you are truly missed
